New Delhi: India’s military leadership has signalled a high state of preparedness amid evolving regional security challenges, with senior defence officials emphasizing readiness for any future contingency under what has been described as Operation Sindoor 2.0.
Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan has stressed that the armed forces must prepare not for the previous phase of Operation Sindoor, but for future threats that may emerge across multiple domains of warfare. He highlighted the growing importance of joint operations involving the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with capabilities in cyber, space, electromagnetic, and cognitive warfare.

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has also stated that the armed forces remain fully prepared should circumstances require the launch of Operation Sindoor 2.0. According to him, the current pause in hostilities should not be mistaken for a reduction in preparedness, as the military continues to maintain operational readiness and strengthen its capabilities for future challenges.
Military leaders have repeatedly underlined that future conflicts will be shaped by technology, real-time intelligence, and integrated command structures. Efforts are underway to enhance theatre command systems, improve situational awareness, and deepen coordination among the three services to ensure faster and more effective responses during crises.
