Twisha Sharma Case

Bhopal: The family of Twisha Sharma has approached a local court in Bhopal seeking a second postmortem in the controversial death case that has triggered nationwide outrage and intensified scrutiny over allegations of dowry harassment and foul play.

Twisha Sharma, a 33-year-old woman originally from Noida, was found dead at her marital home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area on May 12. Police later registered a dowry death and harassment case against her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh, a retired district judge. Authorities stated that the husband remains absconding while multiple police teams continue search operations.

According to the family’s legal counsel, the fresh plea before the Bhopal court seeks a second autopsy after relatives alleged that Twisha’s body showed several injuries before death. The family has expressed doubts over the initial postmortem process and demanded an independent medical examination outside Bhopal to ensure transparency in the investigation.

The case has become increasingly sensitive after disturbing WhatsApp messages, CCTV visuals, and allegations of prolonged mental harassment surfaced in the public domain. Reports indicate that Twisha had repeatedly informed her family and friends about emotional distress and marital disputes in the weeks before her death.

Meanwhile, a local court has reportedly sought the police diary related to the case while investigators continue examining forensic evidence, digital records, and witness statements. The Madhya Pradesh Police has also formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter amid growing public pressure for swift action.

The Twisha Sharma case has now evolved into a major legal and social issue, raising broader questions about dowry-related abuse, women’s safety, and the influence of powerful individuals in criminal investigations. Public attention remains firmly fixed on the developments in the Bhopal court and the ongoing police probe.
